When the octopus attacks

Today I thought I might go to the grocery store with the Peanut. We are cooking out for the 4th and my mom's birthday and we needed some food. What a terribly heinous idea! The Peanut has magically morphed into an octopus. She doesn't want to sit in the cart, she wants to lick everything in sight. It is not fun to wrestle with your kid all over the grocery store while getting sidelong glances from the other shoppers. She screams and wriggles and tries to stand up. I was so ready to be done when I noticed her bottom seemed wet. Of course her diaper had leaked. I wish I could have just rushed out to the car but I had a cart full of food. What do you do then? Plus the butcher came out and it was someone I knew from high school who I haven't seen in a long time. He was extra friendly and chatty and I just kept thinking, "Leaky diaper, leaky diaper!" I got outside and was able to clean things up before heading home. Thankfully after a quick snack, the Peanut/Octopus was ready to nap. I think I need one too, now!

I know you didn't think this was funny, but I cracked up reading it. :) db
