When being on a schedule is a bad thing

Tonight some friends asked us to meet them at Shealys for dinner. Normally this is a very good thing because we all love Shealys. They are celebrating 40 years of delicious yummyness and had a special price on the buffet all month. Tonight was the last night. As you can imagine it was a mad house! We all got there at 7pm to the longest line I have ever seen. I fed the Peanut before we left so she was ok, but after standing in line for an hour she was pretty restless. By then it was getting close to her bedtime. She wasn't hungry so she was minimally interested in eating. To add to her cranky pants, there was limited seating space so we were crammed into a small area. I was so ready to go home before I could even finish my dinner. Hubby warned me about this. The Peanut has been acting up more any time we have gone out to eat. Add to that tiredness and an overstimulating environment and we were lucky she didn't have a total meltdown. We left a little past 8:40 and as expected she was out in the car seat pretty quick. It is a disaster when we do anything too far out of her schedule. Welcome to the dark side of scheduling!
