This weekend Hubby, Peanut and I headed up to Asheville to see a dear friend of mine. She is getting married in October and I was hand-delivering her invitations do I could meet this fellow. It is a fairly easy trip from here to there, about 3 hours. That is long enough for the Peanut to nap and then decide she is ready to get out. She really wasn't too bad in the car. Once there we stopped for lunch at Cheddars, a chain that is pretty good and not expensive. We headed to the house to hang out for a while. It was unusually hot! After a bit of roasting because there wasn't any air conditioning in the house, we decided to take a quick trip downtown to go to the Mast General Store. I love Asheville downtown. There must be a billion cool little stores with neat things. This evening there was a gay marriage parade and festival. I didn't care for that too much but Asheville is kind of known as the southern gay capital. We went back to the house and visited a bit after that. We headed home the next day after church and lunch. We ate at a local place that my friend likes and it was pretty good. We had pizza, she and the fellow had calzones. On the way home we stopped at Bloomfield's, I think I blogged about it last September. It is a cool little store on the interstate. I bought my mom's birthday present there. Her birthday is this Saturday.
Anyhoo, we had a pleasant trip but it was nice to get home. This trip the Peanut was mighty restless about not following her schedule and not being at home. I hope this isn't an indication of how she will be when we go to the beach.
